project 1 // calamity audio file

The Calamity I had a rough time deciding what audio I wanted to use for this project. I actually started off with an entirely different one, edited out the background music, even started animating some of the text. But, it didn’t feel right —b oth the audio quality and the actual content of the quote. So, I kept looking for something that I felt excited about, and I did. I ended up landing on this audio from Critical Role’s mini-campaign, Exandria Unlimited: Calamity. It’s the last bit of the finale, where the GM Brennan Lee Mulligan, was tying up the ends of the adventure. The first time I heard it, it gave me chills. It was inspirational without being droll and cheesy, talking about hope and stories and life. It was poetic. Plus, there's some great imagery for potential text effects!

disclaimer: part of the video is significantly lower quality due to an estimated remaining render time of 17 hours and a computer on the verge of a heart attack So, for this project, I'm pretty happy with where I ended up. My computer was kind of on life support for the latter part of it, so I'd like to clean up the video clip transitions and render it all out at a much higher quality now that my laptop's had a bit of a breather to calm down and I can actually see what I'm doing! skills learned/utilized from the class in this project: after effects time remapping keyframes 3-d spaces

project 3 // storyboard

RAVENS! So, for my infographic video, I decided to choose the topic of ravens. I've always thought they're adorable, but they're also pretty smart and carry a significant amount of spiritual, mythological, and cultural significance, and are all-around pretty interesting. That, and I thought it would be really fun to animate some cute little stylized ravens flying around. I've got my base outline here with the storyboard figured out, but I might extrapolate on certain points or rule some out depending on my time constraints as the process goes on, and how everything ends up working out.
